Now the timeline gets tight—because what followed happened fast.It was a “fool me twice” scenario. I thought I had gone hard the first time through cancer. I had no idea what “hard” really meant. My first round of active treatment had ended in December 2022. But this time, I had a new benchmark, a different level of clarity, and honestly… a lot more fire.

But the truth is... I wasn’t fighting cancer anymore – at least not in my mind. I was doing everything I could to stay healthy, yes. But I was also trying to reclaim a sense of normal, a life beyond treatment. Still, something lingered beneath it all.

I had just broken my arm opening a jar of pickles. It was shocking. Traumatizing.And it was the moment my body told me something was seriously wrong.

On April 13, 2022, my GP called. I knew the moment I saw her number that this was it. She told me they found invasive ductal carcinoma. It was ER and PR positive, HER2 negative. I would be getting a call from the surgeon’s office shortly.
