RIDER PROFILE: Larissa Werbicki Rides RBC GranFondo Whistler On The Krista Guloien Temple Women's Cycling Team

Larissa Werbicki, born and raised in Saskatoon, is a former member of the Canadian National Rowing Team with a successful career spanning 8 years. She has won several medals including a bronze at the Youth Olympic Games, a silver at the Junior World Championships and a silver at the Pan American Games.

 


After her sporting career she transitioned in the corporate world and is currently working at KPMG in the Management Consulting division on the Technology Strategy and Digital Transformation team in Vancouver.


Biography


  • Won bronze in the women’s pair with Caileigh Filmer at the 2014 Youth Olympic Games

  • Won silver in the women’s pair with Filmer at the 2014 World Rowing Junior Championships

  • Competed in four World Rowing U23 Championships from 2015 to 2018, racing in three different events

  • Made her debut at the World Rowing Championships in 2013 in the women’s four]

Getting into the Sport: First rowed in 2007 at a Learn to Row session on the South Saskatchewan River… Rowing was a fairly uncommon sport in Saskatoon and the uniqueness of it led her to stick with it… Outside Interests: Plays violin … Odds and Ends: Favourite place to race is Poznan, Poland… Has worn the same shoes for all of her erg tests since grade 9… Cites elementary and high school rowing coach John Haver as being her biggest rowing role model…
